Key takeaways
- Promptwatch's three agency tiers cost $199, $399 and $799 per month. All three include unlimited projects, unlimited prompts, unlimited team seats, all AI models and pitch projects.
- The tiers differ mainly in volume: responses, Agent Credits, visitor events, crawler logs, audited pages and API rate limits. Scale also adds faster tracking, local GEO/SEO targeting, Fact Check and an audit log.
- Agency plans do not include the Content Agent, AEO articles, the Knowledge Base, 360 Insights or ChatGPT Shopping. Agencies that need content generation or a white-label client portal go to Enterprise.
- Unlimited prompts still draw from one shared response pool, so your real ceiling is responses per month divided by the number of clients.
- Confirm everything on promptwatch.com/pricing before you commit. Pricing pages change, and a few third-party figures below conflict with first-party wording.
Why agency tiers are confusing
Most agency pricing pages say "unlimited" in big letters and put the real limits in a footnote. That is true here too. Unlimited projects and unlimited prompts sound like you can onboard 40 clients and track everything. You can create the projects. Whether you can afford to run them is a different question, and it comes down to the metered resources underneath.
This guide goes through what each tier includes, where the limits bite, and how to match a tier to the number of clients you have. It is aimed at agencies selling AI visibility or GEO as a service, not at brands buying for themselves. If you are a brand, the Essential to Business ladder is a different decision.
The first time I tried to model this for a hypothetical 12-client agency, I got the answer wrong, because I counted prompts and forgot that responses are the actual currency. Do not repeat that.
What every agency tier includes
Promptwatch is an end-to-end AI visibility platform: it monitors how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Copilot and others mention and cite a brand, traces where the answers come from, and then helps fix the gaps. The agency plans package that for client work.

Across Kick-off, Growth and Scale you get:
- Unlimited projects, pitch projects, prompts and team seats
- All supported AI models on every project, not a capped subset
- Country, state and city tracking
- Agent Chat, Brand Narrative, Ads Radar and content gap analysis
- AI crawler logs, visitor analytics and weekly site audits
- Custom reports, plus MCP and REST API access
- PDF reports and Looker Studio connectivity
The agency page also lists a client list with Active, Onboarding and Pitching statuses, and reporting on AI crawler visits, AI-referred traffic and content created. WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Cursor and Lovable are listed integrations.
Pitch projects deserve a mention. You can run a project for a prospect and show them real data before they sign, and only the agency is invoiced. For a sales motion that otherwise relies on screenshots of ChatGPT, that is a real advantage. The free AI visibility report is a lighter version of the same idea.

A caveat on sourcing. The response pool figures (10,000, 25,000 and 65,000) are how Promptwatch's own plan data lists them. Some third-party write-ups, including a competitor review from SE Visible and a comparison by Prefer, discuss the shared pool and a 10-seat figure. Promptwatch's own materials describe unlimited team seats on every plan. If seat counts matter to you, ask Promptwatch to confirm in writing.
The response pool is the real constraint
Unlimited prompts is accurate. But every prompt you track consumes responses, and all your clients draw from the same monthly pool. Add a client and you reduce what is left for the others.
A rough way to think about it:
responses per client per month = pool / number of clients
prompt-runs per client per day = that number / 30
Prefer, a competing agency product, ran illustrative math on 20 clients. On the 10,000 pool that is about 500 responses per client per month, which works out to roughly four prompts on four models daily, or about $10 per client. On the 65,000 pool it is closer to 36 prompts on three models daily per client, or about $40 per client. Treat those as ballpark figures from a competitor, not Promptwatch's own promise, but the shape of the math holds.
What that means in practice:
- Kick-off suits an agency with a handful of small clients or one that mostly uses pitch projects and light-touch monitoring.
- Growth suits an agency running a real GEO retainer for several clients, with a few dozen prompts each.
- Scale suits an agency with many clients or a few clients who need dense, frequent tracking.
One thing to remember: a monitor's frequency multiplies the cost. Running a monitor every hour on Scale uses the pool far faster than daily tracking. Use it for a launch or a campaign, not as a default.
Agent Credits and API limits
Agent Credits meter Agent Chat and other agent work: 1,000, 2,500 and 6,500 per month on the three tiers. If your team leans on Agent Chat for competitor gap analysis, scheduled briefings and dashboard building, credits are the second constraint after responses. Heavy users can buy more as an add-on. One G2 reviewer quoted by SE Visible complained that credits deplete quickly, so budget for add-ons if you plan to run scheduled chats for every client.
The API and MCP rate limits matter if you pipe data into your own reporting. At 500 requests per hour on Kick-off, a scripted pull across 15 clients can hit the ceiling. Growth's 2,000 per hour is comfortable for most agencies, and Scale's 10,000 is for teams building internal dashboards. The MCP server and API docs cover what is available.
What the agency tiers leave out
This is the part people miss. Agency plans do not include:
- The automated Content Agent
- AEO articles and the Knowledge Base
- 360 Insights
- ChatGPT Shopping insights
So if your service is "we monitor and report", agency plans cover it well. If your service is "we write and publish content that gets cited", you need either the Business brand plan per client or an Enterprise arrangement. The same goes for a white-label dashboard and client portal, and for SSO: those sit on Enterprise.
That is a meaningful trade-off, and a fair one to raise with Promptwatch in a demo. You can book a demo and ask how they handle agencies that want both monitoring volume and content output.
Which tier fits which agency
Kick-off, for getting started
Good when you are selling AI visibility audits, running pitch projects, or managing one to four small clients. The 500 requests per hour API limit is fine for light use. You get all models and unlimited projects, so you are not locked out of any platform.
Growth, for the working middle
This is where most agencies with a real GEO offer will land. 25,000 responses and 2,500 Agent Credits support several active retainers. The 2M visitor events matter if you install the analytics script on client sites to show AI-referred traffic.
Scale, for density and control
Worth the jump when you need tracking faster than daily, local GEO/SEO targeting for multi-location clients, Fact Check to catch inaccurate AI claims, or an audit log for compliance. Scale is also the plan labeled most popular for agencies. Note the 7-day free trial applies on monthly billing, though one scraped Promptwatch page did not list a trial for Scale, so verify.
An important wrinkle on free plans: Promptwatch's current pricing guidance says there is no free plan. The free starting points are the 7-day trial and the free AI visibility report. One Promptwatch comparison blog said otherwise, so trust the pricing page.
How competitors price agency work
| Tool | Agency pricing model | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Promptwatch | $199 / $399 / $799 per month | Unlimited projects and prompts, all models, shared response pool |
| Peec AI | $245 / $495 / $795 per month | Credits: one prompt, one model, one day; 900 credit minimum per project |
| Prefer Agency | $199 per month flat | Up to 10 clients, 250 shared prompts, 50 AI articles |
| Otterly | $189 per month (Standard) | Unlimited workspaces, per Prefer's comparison |
| Geoptie | $99 per month (Professional) | 10 brands, per Prefer's comparison |
| Profound | Per client workspace | Brand self-serve plans removed in September 2026 |

Peec's credit model is the most transparent about per-prompt cost, which is a plus. The trade-off is that its tiers do not include crawler logs or content workflows. Many alternatives in this space are monitoring-focused. Promptwatch's argument is that it closes the loop with crawler logs, visitor analytics, the Action Board and content tooling, and the agency tiers include the measurement half of that.
If you want to browse more options, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com lists a wider set of platforms.
A short process for choosing
- Count clients and decide how many prompts each realistically needs. Twenty to forty is typical for a first retainer.
- Multiply prompts by models by days. Compare against the response pool of each tier.
- Add a buffer for pitch projects and one-off research.
- Decide whether you need Scale-only features: hourly tracking, local targeting, Fact Check, audit log.
- Decide whether content generation is part of your offer. If yes, price Enterprise or per-client Business plans in parallel.
- Start a 7-day trial on monthly billing, then switch to annual once usage is clear.
On the agency side, the agencies solution page and the GEO for agencies guide are worth reading before you pitch. Monks used Promptwatch's Answer Gap Report and Visibility Score to build content roadmaps for enterprise clients; the Monks case study shows the workflow.
Making the tier choice fit your business model
Plan choice is also a pricing decision for your own services. Generic agency advice, like the tiered-package approach Ken Yarmosh recommends (three levels plus outcome-focused retainers), applies here: if your client packages are tiered, your tooling cost per tier should be predictable. A client on a $2,000 retainer should not eat a quarter of your response pool.

The PCI agency growth post makes a point that fits here: fragmented tech stacks and overservicing quietly destroy margins. Tracking more prompts than a client's package pays for is overservicing in tool form. Set a prompt budget per client tier and hold to it.
Bottom line
Kick-off, Growth and Scale are the same product at three volumes, with Scale adding a few control features. Pick by arithmetic: responses per client, Agent Credits per month, API calls per hour. Be honest about whether you need content generation, because that is the one thing the agency plans do not cover. Run the trial, check the live pricing page, and ask for the response pool and seat counts in writing before you sign anything.
