Key takeaways
- Local GEO tracking has no standard price unit. BrightLocal charges per location, Local Falcon charges per credit (one credit per grid point), and AI trackers like Peec AI and Otterly charge per prompt and per country.
- BrightLocal's annual Track plan runs $31 for 1 location and about $3.93 per location at 100 locations. Monthly billing costs roughly 25% more.
- Country-level AI trackers can't isolate city-level results. If you need to know what ChatGPT says in Dallas versus Denver, you need a tool built for location.
- Several published price lists are already stale. Always confirm on the vendor's pricing page before you budget.
- To compare tools fairly, normalize everything to one scenario. We use 10 locations with 20 prompts each.
What "local GEO tracking" means, and why it is priced so differently
Local GEO tracking is the practice of checking how a business with physical locations shows up inside AI answers: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini and others. The question is no longer only "do I rank in the map pack?" It is "does the AI name my Austin branch when someone asks for the best option nearby?"
That shift is real. BrightLocal's 2026 consumer survey found that 58% of consumers have used AI to find or get a recommendation for a local business (n=1,164), and AI is now the 4th most common place to start a local search. But only 18% of AI users contact an AI-recommended business directly, and 75% go to Google to verify (n=673). So AI visibility matters, but it sits alongside classic local SEO rather than replacing it.
A quick note on the search results for this topic: a lot of what ranks for "GEO tracking cost" is about GPS fleet tracking, at $10 to $50 per vehicle per month. That is a different product entirely. Everything below is about generative engine optimization for local businesses.
The pricing mess comes from three billing models:
- Per location. You pay for each business location you manage (BrightLocal, Semrush Local, Moz Local).
- Per credit. You buy a pool of credits and spend them on scans (Local Falcon).
- Per prompt and country. You pay for how many prompts you track and in how many countries (Peec AI, Otterly, Profound).
These are not comparable at face value. A $95 plan that tracks 50 prompts in one country is not the same thing as a $41 plan that tracks one location. So later in this guide we run all of them through the same scenario.
The 12 platforms at a glance
Prices below come from vendor pages where I could verify them, and from secondary sources where I could not. The "confidence" column tells you which is which.
| Platform | Billing model | Entry price (2026) | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| BrightLocal | Per location | $41/mo ($31 annual) for 1 location, Track tier | Vendor page |
| Local Falcon | Credits, unlimited locations | $24.99/mo for 7,500 credits | Vendor page |
| Peec AI | Prompts and countries | $95/mo for 50 prompts | Vendor page |
| Otterly.AI | Prompts and engines | From $29/mo | Secondary source |
| Profound | Prompts, region, seats | Starter $99/mo (ChatGPT only) | Competitor claim |
| Semrush Local | Per location | $30/location/mo | Secondary source |
| Moz Local | Per location | About $16/location/mo | Secondary source |
| Whitespark | Modular | From $10/mo | Secondary source |
| Localo | Flat | $39/mo on annual billing | Secondary source |
| Rank.ai | Tiered | $0, $49, $129 or $399/mo | Secondary source |
| LocalOptics (Local Viking) | Listings | $39 to $200/mo | Secondary source |
| Yext | Quote only | No published price | Quote-led |
Uberall and SOCi also have no published pricing, so I treat them as enterprise-quote products alongside Yext.
BrightLocal: the only clean per-location price list
BrightLocal is the easiest platform to price because it publishes a full grid. Three tiers (Track, Manage, Grow), each shown monthly with the annual equivalent in brackets.

| Locations | Track | Manage | Grow |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $41 ($31 annual) | $54 ($40) | $65 ($49) |
| 2-5 | $62 ($47) | $76 ($57) | $87 ($65) |
| 6-10 | $83 ($62) | $109 ($82) | $131 ($98) |
| 11-20 | $104 ($78) | $153 ($115) | $197 ($148) |
| 21-30 | $156 ($117) | $230 ($172) | $296 ($222) |
| 41-50 | $261 ($196) | $384 ($288) | $494 ($370) |
| 91-100 | $524 ($393) | $769 ($577) | $989 ($742) |
| 100+ | On request | On request | On request |
The useful insight is the cost curve. On annual Track, one location costs $31. At 100 locations you pay $393 total, or about $3.93 each. Volume discounts are steep. Beyond roughly 250 locations pricing becomes quote-led.
One correction worth making: some 2026 roundups still say "~$39 per location per month." The current page shows $41 monthly and $31 on annual billing for a single location. Treat the older figure as stale.
The Local AI Visibility Tracker add-on
BrightLocal launched a Local AI Visibility Tracker that appears to have gone live around September 2026. What I could confirm:
- It covers ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews. No Perplexity or Gemini.
- It scores each location from 0 to 100 rather than blending everything into one average.
- It allows up to 20 prompts per location, branded and unbranded, with sentiment and recommendation strength.
- There is a 14-day free trial with no card.
The page also carries a snippet reading "$140+/mo base + per-location." I could not confirm the exact add-on terms from the page text, so get that number from BrightLocal directly before you put it in a budget.
Local Falcon: credits instead of locations
Local Falcon flips the model. Every plan includes unlimited locations and keywords. What you pay for is credits, and one credit equals one grid point on a map scan.

Listed plans:
- $24.99/mo for 7,500 credits
- $49.99/mo for 15,150 credits
- $99.99/mo for 31,250 credits
- $199.99/mo for 63,150 credits
The pricing page also shows a second tier list with 183,000 credits at $49.99 and 383,000 at $99.99. I could not work out which list is monthly and which is annual, so check the page. Enterprise reportedly goes up to $4,999.
How fast credits disappear
A 7x7 grid scan costs 49 credits. Do the math on a realistic setup:
- 5 keywords across 4 towns, scanned weekly, is about 3,920 credits a month.
- 15 locations x 5 keywords x 4 scans a month is 14,700 credits, which just fits the $49.99 plan.
Bigger grids multiply the cost, because every extra grid point is another credit. A 9x9 grid is 81 credits per scan, roughly 65% more than a 7x7. Falcon AI analysis costs 25 credits per report, and the Sales Enablement tool costs 1 credit per lookup.
On the AI side, Local Falcon tracks visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Mode, AI Overviews and Grok on a geo-grid. New accounts get 100 free credits. There is also an FAQ line mentioning "$0.10 per location per month" for an unnamed feature. The context is unclear, so I would not rely on it.
The AI-first trackers: Peec AI, Otterly, Profound
These tools were built for brand visibility in AI answers, not for local. They price by prompt, model and country.
Peec AI
Peec AI published pricing, confirmed live in July 2026:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $95/mo | 50 prompts, 3 models, 1 country, daily tracking |
| Pro | $245/mo | 150 prompts, 3 countries |
| Advanced | $495/mo | 350 prompts |
| Agency Essential | $245/mo | Agency tier |
| Agency Growth | $495/mo | Agency tier |
| Agency Scale | $795/mo | Agency tier |
Extra model add-ons cost +$35, +$85 and +$165/mo across the three main plans. Some sources quote EUR 85 to 89 for Starter, which is a currency and timing difference. The catch for local businesses: Peec tracks by country. There is no city or per-location tracking, so you cannot see how an answer changes between two branches.
Otterly.AI and Profound
Otterly.AI starts from $29/mo across four engines, per a secondary source dated October 2026.
Otterly.AI

Profound Starter is $99/mo but limited to ChatGPT, one seat and one region. Enterprise is custom. Note that the Profound numbers come from a competitor's page, so verify them.
Profound

For a multi-location business, a single region is the dealbreaker on both. They answer "does the brand show up?" not "does each location show up?"
The traditional local SEO suites
Secondary sources (a Technova snapshot from mid-2026, not verified against vendor pages) put these at:
- Semrush Local at $30 per location per month
- Moz Local at about $16 per location per month
- Whitespark modular from $10/mo, strongest on citations
- Localo at $39/mo on annual billing
- Yext quote-only

These are strong on listings, reviews and citations. Per vendor-written comparisons (treat as biased), Uberall, SOCi and Yext lack prompt-level AI tracking. That may change quickly, so ask each one directly. Semrush's separate AI visibility monitoring was listed by TeamAI at $165.17 to $455.67/mo, which gives you a sense of how the AI layer is priced apart from the local layer.
Two other options worth knowing: Rank.ai at $0, $49, $129 or $399/mo (ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, with maps from 3x3 to 7x7), and LocalOptics at $39 to $200/mo priced by listings from 1 to 70, which has geo-grid but no AI tracking.
Normalizing to a real scenario: 10 locations, 20 prompts each
Here is a rough annual-billing comparison for a business with 10 locations tracking 20 prompts per location. Treat these as estimates, not quotes.
| Platform | Estimated monthly cost | Why |
|---|---|---|
| BrightLocal Track (annual) | $62 | 6-10 locations tier, rank tracking only |
| BrightLocal Grow (annual) | $98 | Full tier for 10 locations; AI tracker add-on is extra (confirm terms) |
| Local Falcon | $24.99 to $49.99 | 10 locations x 20 keywords x 4 scans of 7x7 is 39,200 credits, so plan for the $99.99 tier if all 20 prompts are scanned weekly |
| Peec AI Pro | $245 | 150 prompts covers 200 only if you trim; no city-level data |
| Semrush Local | About $300 | $30 x 10 locations |
| Moz Local | About $160 | $16 x 10 locations, no AI tracking |
A few honest caveats. Local Falcon's math depends heavily on grid size and scan frequency, so the low end only applies if you scan lightly. Peec and Otterly do not offer location-level isolation, so the lower price buys you less local insight. And Semrush and Moz figures come from secondary sources.
Why prompt-level tracking matters for local
Promptwatch's data on average sources per response shows ChatGPT cites about 5 sources per web-search answer, Google AI Overviews about 10, and Perplexity almost exactly 10 each day. Copilot has swung from under 2 to nearly 17.
With roughly 5 ChatGPT slots, a local business has very few chances to be named. A single visibility score per brand hides that. If your Chicago location is cited and your Phoenix one is not, a country-level tracker will average the two and tell you things look fine.
Promptwatch's ChatGPT query fanout data adds a writing hint: average query length fell from about 117 characters in early December to the high 80s in February and March, and about 53 characters from April. Location pages and headings that read like short keyword queries match how these searches look. The same data shows average fanout of about 2.15 searches per response in early December falling to about 1.84 by early March, then 1.0 when data resumed in April, so don't assume large fanouts.
Where a broader AI visibility platform fits
If your goal is understanding and improving AI visibility across prompts and models, not just local grids, a dedicated platform is worth pricing against the above. Promptwatch tracks the real interfaces of ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and others, supports country tracking on every paid plan and state and city tracking from the Business plan, and goes past monitoring with crawler logs, a content gap analysis and a Content Agent that writes and publishes.

Its pricing is prompt-based: Essential is $95/mo for 50 prompts and 6,000 responses, Professional is $245/mo for 150 prompts, and Business is $579/mo for 350 prompts with state and city tracking. Confirm current numbers at promptwatch.com/pricing. Note that Promptwatch is not a street-level geo-grid tool, so pair it with a tool like Local Falcon if map-pack scans matter to you.
If you want to compare more options, the GEO software directory at bestgeosoftware.com and the AI rank tracker directory at ai-rank-tools.com list many more.
How to choose, and how to avoid overpaying
- Start with your location count. Under 10 locations, per-location pricing (BrightLocal) is cheap. Above 50, volume tiers drop the per-location cost sharply. Past 250, expect quotes.
- Decide whether you need AI or maps, or both. Local Falcon and BrightLocal can cover both. Peec, Otterly and Profound cover AI only, with no city detail.
- Pay annually if you can. The gap at BrightLocal is about 25% ($41 vs $31).
- Model your credits before buying Local Falcon. Multiply grid points by keywords by scans by locations.
- Re-check prices. Several secondary sources are already stale. BrightLocal's older $39 figure is one example.
- Use free trials. BrightLocal's AI tracker has a 14-day trial, Local Falcon gives 100 free credits, and Promptwatch has a 7-day trial on monthly paid plans.
The bottom line
For a small multi-location business, expect to spend roughly $60 to $250 a month for solid local plus AI tracking, depending on how many locations and prompts you need. Enterprise rollouts with Yext, Uberall or SOCi are quote-only and a different budget conversation. The biggest trap is comparing sticker prices across billing models. Pick a scenario, normalize, then ask each vendor for a quote against it.
